Our Universal Credit System

What are credits?

Credits power everything in your RapidSpike account. The more you monitor the more you need. Your credit usage is dependent on how they are configured across 4 areas:

  1. How many monitors you have 
  2. How complex they are (i.e how much data they process & deliver)
  3. How often you need to run them (hourly to minute by minute)
  4. Which locations do you need to run them from (77 global availability zones)

When you add a monitor, you’ll see a cost in credits. The more powerful a monitor is, and the more frequently you run it, the more it costs. If you remove a monitor you get the credits back to use on something else.

How do you pay for Credits?

Your RapidSpike account includes a fixed amount of credits which is negotiated at the time of your deal based on what you need. If you require more, any additional spend is charged to you for the remainder of your contract until renewal. For example, if you have 6 months left until you renew you will get an invoice for half the amount, and then the full amount will be added to the invoice after your contract is renewed. The more you buy the more discount will be applied.

How many credits will I need?

Some monitors are more resource intensive and therefore require more credits. You can find out how many credits a monitor requires by configuring it in the app. You can also view the “My Credits” dashboard which lists everything you’re monitoring and the cost.

Below is an example of how credit costs are calculated for more advanced monitors. These depend on the amount of testing required, in this format:

How are credits valued?

The credits are valued by how much data it provides and how resource intensive it is to run. Below are the credits allocations per main monitor type:

There are a number of aspects of our service that run slightly differently from the above:

Real User Monitoring

RapidSpike uses 1 credit for every 10k page views, for instance real user monitoring for 10 million monthly page views (120 million per year) would require 1000 credits.

Magecart Attack Detection

RapidSpike Magecart Attack Detection enabled on a per website basis for either RUM, Synthetics or both and requires a discussion with the RapidSpike sales team. You can use the Client Side Security Scanner, as well as Vulnerability Scans.

Support Services

All packages include some support (3 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours per year), however you can buy support packages to look after managed user journeys, data breach attacks and support of your technical teams in issue resolution.

Alerting Credits

Alerting Credits are used to send SMS, Voice Calls and Whatsapp messages triggered by your alert rules. These credits are renewed each month, and the amount available will vary depending on your account.
