Vulnerability Scans are a fantastic way to conduct remote security assessments on your site/server to raise the alert if any potential vulnerabilities are discovered. These vulnerability are necessarily severe issues however may alert you to areas that malicious hackers could use to gain access to your network.
If you are looking at how to set up your first scan in RapidSpike follow this link!
What should I input into the scanner?
Websites
If you are scanning websites make sure to only include the site URL without paths. The scanner will not pick these paths up and it may cause the scan to fail or issues once they have run.
Servers
If you are scanning your servers you must ensure that each IP address is correct and accessible. If even one is incorrect this could result in a scan failure or potentially an issue with the results being sent back to your RapidSpike account.
My scan hasn’t run/has encountered issues, what should I do?
If you have noticed an issue with your scan you should first investigate the scan setup and ensure that everything is entered correctly and follows the structure outlined above. If you have not allowed us one working day to set up the scan this could also result in a failure as we have not had a chance to perform the scan set-up.
If you do encounter any issues or have any questions please do not hesitate to send an email to support@rapidspike.com. We can assist in exporting the data if the scan was successful or reschedule the scan again as soon as possible to gather the data you need.
