With an ever-growing list of digital agencies providing everything from web design and development to marketing and SEO expertise, Leeds is almost equal with its northern sibling; Manchester. Sky Betting and Gaming are moving their whole development ecosystem to Leeds – a move that will create hundreds of jobs and draw some of the UK’s top digital talent to the city. With all this digital activity in the city, follows a number of inevitabilities: More beard sightings A rise in MacBook and coffee sales Increased traffic to StackOverflow from Leeds ‘Agile’ becoming a household word Additionally, more tech meet-ups are born. One particular meet-up that has gained quite a strong following over the past 2 years is Forefront Leeds. Predominately a front-end design and development meeting, events occur every couple of months and feature beers, chat and talks from some of the city’s digital experts. Here at RapidSpike we like to support local talent and the tech community so have been attending Forefront as frequently as possible since its inception. The next Forefront meet-up (No9) will feature some interesting talks; the evolution of web development by Alex Bennett, email marketing with Becs Rivett and working for the government with Simon Wilson. The event will be held at the Belgrave Music Hall on 25/11/2015 – details can be found on this page – and it will be sponsored by us! So, there’s a couple of free beers for all attendees. Make sure you stop by and say hello if you’re nearby, you won’t be disappointed!
