RapidSpike has a sophisticated notifications system that will allow you to configure alerts for all sorts of different scenarios, escalating issues to the proper team members and giving you total granular control over who is notified and how.
Configure alerts for all sorts of different monitor types – be it critical downtime on your server monitors or performance warnings via your User Journeys.
Set up who is notified and how by creating Delivery Methods, our way of grouping recipients into teams. Adding multiple delivery methods enables you to escalate issues higher up the chain if they are not resolved.

Trigger Advanced Alerts
Configure your alerts to activate via a wide variety of triggers, from element load times, traffic volume and file sizes to complete outages and down-time. Many of these can be tailored in specific detail.
Each monitor type has its own suite of trigger options, allowing you to set up alerting to suit your needs.
We’ve worked hard to eliminate false-positives and only alert you when it really matters. We have a number of vital settings in place to prevent “alert fatigue” so you know that if you get a notification, it’s something you need to see.
For example: Give your monitors a “threshold” by only triggering alerts if a particular event has happened “X” times before.

Avoiding false positives in Uptime
A common complaint about uptime monitoring is the frequency of false positives – alerts triggered by a random slow connection or a one-off blip in connectivity. To avoid these annoying fakes, RapidSpike performs a number of extra tests to ensure the alerts we bring you are genuine.
Testing and Re-testing
Whenever any of our uptime monitors encounters a failure the RapidSpike system automatically sends it for immediate retesting in another global region.
This is to ensure the failure wasn’t caused by a connection issue close to the testing monitor. Once we have established two concurrent failures, we then process the error and send your notifications.
Setting Advanced Alert Thresholds
All RapidSpike monitors can be configured with a threshold of sensitivity when created. This enables you to determine how responsive you want RapidSpike to be when sending your Advanced Alerts.
Extremely sensitive monitors send their alerts as soon as a problem occurs. However you can configure alert rules to only send alerts after numberous failures are encountered.

These “delivery methods” can then be applied to any monitor alert rule in your account.
Each delivery method is assigned a distinct colour so you can easily see which have been applied and where.
Setting Up Advanced Alert Rules
The Alert Rules screen lists all the monitors in your account, broken down by type. Just choose the monitor you wish to add a rule to, and you can quickly and easily configure it.
